About Our Community
We're a small, growing Jewish community based in Georgetown. Our work rests on a simple idea: every Jew deserves a connection to their heritage, wherever in the world they happen to be.
The Rebbe's Vision
In the 1980s, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson of blessed memory, encouraged his emissaries to seek out Jews in places like Guyana. Not to wait for them to come, but to go and find them. That call brought our community here, and it's what keeps us here.
Today that vision is taking shape. We hold regular classes, mark the Jewish holidays, and keep an open door for locals and visitors alike. What began as a few scattered individuals is becoming a real community.
Our Mission
We're here for any Jew in Guyana: long-time residents, new arrivals, expats, students, and business travelers. Whatever your background or level of observance, you're welcome. Come for a Shabbat meal, sit in on a class, or just reach out and say hello.
