About Our Community
We're a small, growing Jewish community based in Georgetown. Our mission is simple: every Jew deserves a connection to their heritage, wherever in the world they happen to be.
The Rebbe's Vision
In the 1980s, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson of blessed memory, encouraged his followers to seek out Jews in Guyana. Not to wait for them to come, but to go and find them.
Today the Rebbe's vision is taking shape in Guyana. We hold regular classes, celebrate the Jewish holidays, and keep an open door for locals and visitors alike. What began years ago as only few scattered individuals is becoming a real community.
Our Mission
We're here for any Jew in Guyana: long-time residents, new arrivals, expats, students, and business travelers. Whatever your background or level of observance, you're welcome. Come for a Shabbat meal, join a torah class, or just reach out and say hello.
